The barristers didn't close so it does add a delay, all you can do is ask your solicitor to make a polite enquiry to the judge, if you approach the judge in person it is doubtful you will receive response.

Thanks, the barristers had to have their closing statements in within 2 days after the final hearing, which we know they have done.

Our solicitor has rang the court to check and they told him the judge has not filed the judgement with them yet to send out.

So just playing the waiting game but it's starting to take it's toll now, getting frustrated and inpatient!

Its very understandable you need resolution to know where you stand financially but the fact is the wheels turn slowly and often very slowly.

Still no judgement made by the judge yet and its now been 17 working days since the final hearing!

The court rang our soicitor yesterday asking for another copy of our closing statement and proposal for shared residencey, we assume they had lost the original that was sent to them 15 days ago!

I am beginning to believe that our court system needs a serious look at the way they run family proceedings!

rachel,

I once waited 28 weeks for a judgement from a preliminary hearing, this was my first as LIP...never again...its a torture and its a persons life on hold...these judges may have wide powers blah blah, some even think they are god...but they are not...sols naturally do not want to upset these guys...its not their life on hold...at every hearing since I sought approximation for judgement to be pronounced, when necessary I referred to a sheriffs apology for excessive delay (4 weeks) which preceded his judgement...not sure if there is an E/W one...and I never waited more than 3 weeks before contacting the court...after all its your life, their job! PTN is the sol really ruffling feathers for you

Elle thanks for your response, we rang the court ourselves today as getting so fed up and they wouldnt tell us anything as we have a solicitor we were told they are ony allowed to give out information to them!!!!!!

i will keep trying the court as i think its a joke the amount of time it has took them to write the judgemnt cosidering the case had already been dragged out for around 13 months.
