I have just received a court notice based on my husband applying for equal custody of children - 16 and 12yrs old. I have proposed in the past that they stay with me and he can have them every other weekend with the option to have them for tea once/ twice a week depending on his schedule.
He's alleged that I am asking for this so he will have to pay me support. I dont work and have a limited company but not making any money from it as I have been impacted by the trauma from discovering that he had been cheating on me for all of our marriage of 20yrs and even while we were dating. He is a sex addict and was in therapy plus attending SAA meetings for almost 3 yrs after the discovery of his infidelity. I filed for divorce in March 2020 and he initially tried to ignore it then tried to gaslight and making me feel guilty about not trying to keep our family together. When he finally did respond to the application he pretty soon told me that he was not going to pay any spousal or child maintenance.
I have been their primary carer, gave up my career to look after them and supported him with building his career. He was in a job for a number of years where he had to travel
The first hearing is on 25th March, I dont need to attend the hearing but Cafcass might do their checks and I need to send my position statement at least a couple of days before the hearing.
Who is the best person to help me with it here at Wikivorce. I am in touch with Nicola about the finances but not sure who has experience with cases involving children's arrangements.
