Cazza if you know what he earns roughly then you can enter the figures onto the calculator on the CSA website and it will give you an idea of whether what he is paying is correct.

If I remember though there is something about there being new rates for new CSA claims, but I cant remember where i read it now!

Hi,
If the 2477 figure is correct the 350 seems about right. If I recall you have another child that stays with him, depending on the age of that child he could potentially go to the CSA and ask for payment from you.

LostBoy shes 18 1/2 and working so she doesnt come into it.The overnight contact is goingto be assesed as he is sharing a bedroom with his dad and at 13 needs his own space.
Without overnight contact he shoukd be paying 372 a month. With overnight stays 320 a month but without him providing his wage slip who knows if he has bonuses or overtime etc etc

Hi

Thanks for the post and I am sorry you seem to be having an unsettling time at the moment.

As some of the boarders have already stated, if you decided to go through the CSA, then they could demand to see evidence of his income and if necessary can even get these details from his employer or from HMRC. They may even take child maintenance payments direct from his wage if he refused to make payments.

In general, the CSA would make a child maintenance calculation of 15% of his net income for your son. If the figure he gave you was £2477 (net ie after payment of tax, NI and pension contributions), then your ex should be expected to pay £370 per month. The CSA would make a reduction if your child stays with your ex for 52 nights a year or more. You can find the child maintenance calculator on the Wikivorce website in the child maintenance section.

I hope that this helps
