CSA calulation of overnights

Hi,
A little question that occured to me as the Easter holidays approach. The CSA payments are reduced for NRPs based on the number of overnights, but what happens if they children are farmed off to grandparents for a couple of weeks, what happens to those 14 nights? Which parent are they counted for ? The parent who is the child of the grandparents ? Are they divided equally between both parents ? Or simply counted as the PR''s overnights regardless?

Even if the children are with grandparents I would have thought one parent would be ultimately responsible and the stay is in theory "in that parents time". If the grandparents were to become ill which parent would the children go to. Also who arranged /agreed this stay I would think it would be the parent with care for the holiday period. Ultimately the parent with care can allow someone else to care if in their time and it would not effect overnight stays unless of course it is in the NRP time and they arranged this care.

Well it was me NRP that arranged the stay with my parents. I will be doing all the transport etc. It suits the RPs lifestyle/work committments not to have them either week over Easter. Its not a point of ''conflict'' at the moment I just wanted to get some idea on how this sort of arangment is viewed

It sounds as if you do have ultimate care for this time. What your agreed contact for holidays normally?

CSA guidance for payments is adjusted based on number of nights they are with non resident parent. There does not to appear to be a clause for nights spent with other people. Assuming Grandparents (which can be paternal or maternal) don''t get paid to have the pleasure of having their grandchildren this should rarely be an issue. If it were it could make sleepovers for teens an issue. Should CSA cut payments for this? Should the money be given to the parents of the child''s friend in this instance?
