I was denied contact over the last 2 occassions due to illness. This will mean that in a total of 4 weeks I will have only seen my sons for 2.5 hours. Now even if it happens infrequently it''s heart breaking nonetheless and there''s nothing I can do. Maybe need to change contact order as suggested above !

My ex has handed over my daughter a few times claiming she was a bit cranky and ill. My girl was fine. Except for once, so I swung her in ma arms until she went to sleep. Then I just watched her sleep for an hour. I used to watch her sleep in her cot.
If I were denied contect due to "illness", I would explain it once in writing and ask for a doctors note. If it were to happen again and no doctors note, it would be court.

Do not be affraid to stand up for yourself. Courts dislike people disobeying orders. I cant remember which judge said that if contact didnt happen on the weekend, the father should be allowed to enforce monday morning and the mother should appear on Tuesday to explain herself to the judge. With a system like this, people would straighten out. This is why I think that Suspended residence orders should be the norm. Makes people think twice before using a child as a weapon. Some men with residence are equally guilty of this also.

I would image it depends on why type of contact visit it is.
For example if Dad lives close by and sick child and Dad can cuddle up under blankets and watch movies then, yes contact would take place and the sick child would be comfortable.
But, if contact is a day at a Theme park then you and I know that the last place you want to be when you''ve got a cold, feel sick etc is to be walking around surrounded by noise and food smells.
Kids do get ill a lot unfortunately.

To the op u said that contact was denied as the kid was ill and so mum could look after at home.
Then the last two occasions have happened in a month and Mum has sent the kid to grannies.
This has got feck all to do with the kid being ill and everything to do with your exes social life.
The kids getting sent to grannies for babysitting because otherwise mum would have to be home when you returned the kid.
Trust me I''m always right.
All the best
HRH xx

I would agree with HRH. Seems people play a lot of games and stories do not add up. You don''t have to be Columbo to figure it out.
