Hi I wish to stop all the Financial Dispute Resolution hearings. I have been told to do this I have make an application to stop proceedings or another word I have hears is vacate (but I don't know if they mean the same things). How do I do this? Do you know what form I need to fill in or do I just write a letter to the Judge?

You can't stop hearings as such. It is possible to vacate a hearing which means that it is taken out of the court list but you need good reason to do this.

If you are the applicant and you no longer want a financial order you can withdraw your application. You will need to make an application to the court to do this.

Hi Charles,
Thank you for replying. Yes I am the applicant and I want to cancel this whole process, Perhaps the word vacate is the wrong word. I applied for ancillary relief which meant the Form A court application was done. We attended the FDR - First initial hearing. After discussion, I want to cancel the whole process. Just 3 quick questions:

How do I apply to court to cancel this? Is there a particular court form I fill in?

or do I simply write in to the court with my case/claim number as a ref explaining that I simply want to cancel and no longer go through with the process (ancillary and FDR etc)?

And will this stop it in its track?

Thank You in advance
