Hi,
My brother has been represented by a solicitor and barrister however his first appointment ( he is the applicant) was stood out of court in April 2022 due to lack of legislative time. he now has to represent himself due to running out of money.
The next court date is in September 2022 where he will be acting in person.

Can I ask, is he now responsible for communicating directly with his ex- partner of does the court send her notification of next court hearing? Does he organise exchanging form E's directly with her or will the court manage that?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you
Sister ( helping with admin)

If his spouse is represented, then he needs to communicate with the solicitor, if she isn't represented then he will need to communicate directly with his spouse (providing there are no court orders preventing contact).

In either case he will need to let the other side, and court, know that he is now a litigant in person. Form N434 is the form to complete and submit to the court. Make sure the other side has his full and current contact details - its a good idea to email these across anyway.

The court will send out notice of proceedings to both parties.
