Hi, could anyone advise how I can ask the court to bring forward a court hearing please?
My ex and I are in court trying to negotiate him paying maintenance for a longer period due to our daughter being extremely vulnerable and needing me to be at home with her. Our current order expires this July which will leave me with barely any income within the next 6 weeks. I made this clear at the last hearing and judge stated she would endeavor for the hearing to be listed before that date. I have just received the date as 25th October.
This leaves me in a vulnerable position of having to essentially beg my ex who will be as difficult as possible and him potentially having the power to get me to agree something much less than I should simply because I have no choice. What can I do in this situation? Can I apply to the court to ask them to extend the current order until at least the next hearing or to urgently list the hearing before July? Many thanks in advance for any help.
