I think my husband has been suffering from depression a while. We have only been married 3.5 years but for 2 he has been acting quite strange. He never goes out and doesnt like me going out. He claims he loves me on condition I love him unconditionally. My father is now ill with cancer and I want to be near him. My husband now has declared he wanted a separation and he wants to take half of my property. I cannot get through to him that it is not fair keeping all my property and he refuses to discuss anything with a third party. He refuses to go to a doctor and says that it is all 100% my fault and that I need clinical help. I have been to a counsellor, doctor and Relate, all of whom say he may be suffering from depression but he refuses help. Whilst my dad is ill I have no energy to help him.
Any advice?

hi again

you will find any pms (private messages) in your inbox, you can access this via your profile page, or the notice that appears on the main page saying "you have 1 new private message".

Thank you very much Ruby. I am obviously stressed, not being able to find my way around this site!! I am looking at the website you posted and it is very good.
Work and friends are very supportive and I expect to get more involved with this site.

Thanks

I have done 15 years of this behaviour and he has had treatment - unfortunately they don't always get better. It is like reading about me and although I know its not my fault it still affects me but he blames me 100% and now he is bitter and angry that I am divorcing him. We are still living together and it is just horrible
