Hi. This is my first xmas without my wife and child, we broke up 4 weeks ago and its bloody awful.
I am trying to be positive but cannot help the feelings.
The trouble is I have moved out of the house and living at a mates house but hes off out with his girl.
Is it better to be miserable and married or alone and afraid of the future?

:(

Sorry to hear that. Is really tough I know. I guess depends if you can salvage your relationship or not so that you are not miserable. If not then the latter. Being alone is ok once you get used to it, it may not last forever and the future could also get better. Try not to worry to much about the future for now and just take each day as it comes and take care of yourself and your child. Hope you can keep positive over this difficult time.

The first Christmas without my ex, I went to a party on my own. Everyone else there was a couple, but I realised I was happier there on my own than I would have been with my ex - and I was pleasantly surprised to find that everyone thought I was better off without him too!

I''m quite used to going places on my own, I enjoy my own company - and often the people who are in a couple aren''t happy together.

Wishing everyone a peaceful Christmas and a better 2015.
