The calculator throws out some odd results, its far better to answer the questions below so that our members can give you a better indication of what you might be looking at in terms of finances:

Your respective ages

Length of marriage (plus any lengthy pre-marital co-hab)

Number and ages of children, and how many nights they will spend with each parent post-separation.

Your marital assets (even if in sole names) - anything over the value of £500 is a marital asset. (ie equity, pensions, savings, cars, valuables, etc)

Your marital liabilities (ie, remaining mortgage, loans, credit cards, other debts,etc) again in sole and joint names

Your respective incomes and outgoings

Any other information that may be relvant, ie if one party is unable to work (either full or part time) due to illness/disability or looking after very young children, etc.
