Negative figures in Divorce Calculator

Does any one know why the calculator is only picking up assets as a single figure so when it calculates the figures it is a load a of rubbish.

The calculator is not designed to give users a complete calculation, it is designed (as stated on the page) "to give a very rough estimate of a fair financial settlement ­­­­­­­base­­­­­­­d on a limited set of criteria". It is designed to crunch numbers and can''t take into account the numerous different variables of each user, and the varying needs of the parties. The disclaimer states "Do not rely on the results of the Divorce Calculator.The calculator provides only a very rough indication and the ambiguity of the law plus the limited data it uses as input means that the results may not be accurate and should be treated with caution". It's fine for short childless marriages.

The calculator is the very first of it''s kind, and while it has limited use, the best way to obtain information and advice on one''s financial settlement is to use the forum and to use the Wikivorce financial Consultation service.

Members may be able to give you some advice on what a potential fair division of assets could be if you are able to provide the following information:

Your respective ages;

The number of children you have and their ages;

How many nights the children spend with each parent;

The length of your marriage and any period of pre marriage cohabitation;

Your respective incomes;

Your respective outgoings;

Your assets - both solely held and joint;

Your liabilities.

Any other information that may be relevant, is long-term health issues, caring for elderly parents etc

I am sorry if I haven made myself clear I have detailed the assets in thousands ie: 70000.00 but in the calculation it is only picking up 7 so all the figures as getting distorted . sorry for the confusion.

It was me who wasn't being clear - The questions in my post were intended for you to provide the information here on the forum, rather than plodding on with the calculator which won;t give the detailed advice and help you may be looking for.

I have been trying to clear the figures to start again but it doesn't seem to like it, can you tell me how I can clear it down and start again thanks

If you are using a laptop or PC you could try clearing your cache?

Not sure how to do that but will try and find out, thank you for your help.
