Hi, I am 53 earning 90k per annum, wife is 50 earning 14k per annum.

We have a daughter aged 12

House is worth 930k with 330k mortgage

Wife owns investment property 100k no mortgage , income 1k pm

I have a pension built up since 1982 worth 900k (we got together in 2002)

I have no cash/savings wife has about 20k

In terms of break up, I am thinking the following as acceptable via mediation/court.

Wife has all equity in house, her savings etc circ 600k after costs

Investment flats 100k held in Trust for our daughter (my wife has 2 children from previous marriage and never received any maintenance from W husband which effectively I paid for)

1k per month maintenance until finish college/university etc

My pension stays in tact (my pension survived one previous divorce and is literally the only thing I have left)

Advice please?

Thanks

How much are two bed houses where you live? On paper the agreement looks lopsided in terms of one you having lots of liquid assets but no pension whilst the other has an almost liquid asset but no home, but mortgage capability. Is the rental property suitable for either of you to use/live in as a 2 bed where you are?

Thanks for your response

A 2 bed house would be 400k.

Regrettably the investment flats are 100 miles away so not readable to live in.

I could rent a 2 bed property for say 1300 per month as pretty expensive in north London so we are all close to each other schoolingbetc.

Both of our jobs are flexible etc

Many thanks
