Hi I have just printed off the Statement of information for a Consent Order to fill in ready for the consent order(obviously) Can i apply for my divorce at the same time or shall i do the CO first? I am worried that if my x gets into any debt, (something i have avoided the whole of my life so don''t want to start now) then i wll get dragged into it.

Nic,

You can only submit a Consent Order after the Nisi has been granted, and you will need to engage a solicitor to write up the CO. So petition first, then wait for Nisi, then submit CO, then apply for Absolute.

Any debt he may build up from now on is his and not yours/joint.
