Hi, im looking at getting a divorce, we seperated 8 year ago ! he moved out not long after. He is really controlling and manipulative and to be honest even now scares me sh*tless even when others are around. I stayed in the marital home as we had 3 children all still at home.
He was ( still is unafficailly ) self employed, but claiming disability benefits due to depression and psycotic behaviour. I was and still am working full time. last child left home last year and we sold up, using the little profit to pay off the mounting debt. He has never paid anything towards the morgage or upkeep of the house, or any maintainance towards the 3 kids. I was not in a well paid job but kept my head above water - just . He has his account where his disability etc is paid to, and other money from work etc stashed everywhere with his family, and possibly under the floorboards knowing him.

Now i want it finalized. I filled in the divorce papers last year. This is when i lost my bottle, i had to put my new address on ! I do not want him knowing where i live ! I had moved out of the family home within 2 week of my youngest son leaving due to threats he had made. I knew he wouldnt do anything with the kids still at home but once gone i was just a sitting target!

I have moved out of my birth town to avoid dropping on him whilst out and about - fair enough im only in the next city but still too close for comfort but close enough really as still close to my kids, mother and siblings.

My question if anyone can answer is can use a care of address? my mother would let me use her address, also would i have to pay him ? as he *is too sick to work? :S

Hello, and welcome to Wikivorce.

If you want to keep your address hidden on the correspondence from the court to him, then you can use form C8 (Confidential contact details). I have attached a copy for you.

As for you "paying" him - spousal maintenance is based on the recipient''s need, and also on the payer''s ability to pay.
