Hi Please could anyone give me the answer. I have agreed a settlement. His solicitor sent a D81 Statement of Information for a Consent Order) Do I need my own solicitor (Litigation friend) to sign my Respondents statement of Truth? OR Or can I sign without paying for a solicitor?

Did he not send a draft of the consent order as well ?

I would advise that you have the order checked by a solicitor, for two reasons.

The first is that drafting an order is not something a non-legally qualified person should undertake.

The second is that the Court may not approve the agreement unless you have access to independent legal advice.

I understand your wish to save money. I believe wiki does offer a service for drafting/vetting consent orders at a price which compares
favourably with what you'd get elsewhere.

Trying to deal with this yourself may be a false economy.

Hi thanks for replying. I have a letter and draft from his solicitor. My query was because the statement of information asks for my signature and solicitor ((Litigation friend. Didn't know whether was ok with just my signature?
