As part of the order following a contact order hearing the judge ordered we both attend a SPIP course. My ex retracted his decision to go ahead for a contact order the following week saying he did not want CAFCASS to be involved etc. ( Since he left 2 years ago he has had alternate weekend contact, Wednesday overnights, all holidays shared equally)
Anyway we both attended the SPIP course (4 hours) at the end of which we were told we would all have to do a SPIP PLUS meeting to see how the course has helped?! At the time there was much outrage from most of the people there...some of whom had been battling for contact for over 2 years (one guy had already had 14 court hearings trying to see his daughter...heartbreaking stuff).
Anyway the letter arrived today to confirm a time that my ex has agreed to have the SPIP PLUS meeting (in the middle of financial proceedings and he refuses to communicate AT ALL so not sure what this will bring up!)....anyway the letter also states that if we are not eligible for funding the cost will be £80!! WTH...??? In addition we are expected to be there for 3 hours??
If he has retracted the application for a contact order why do I still have to attend?
