Hi everyone,
i wonder if anyone can help please. i am a respondent to divorce, just returned from 1st appointment hearing with FDR set for hearing in a month.married 1.5 years, cohabitation period of 5 years prior to marriage. no children or any pensions.have investment properties that provide my only source of income through rental income.collectively they show a negative equity of 70k through valuations carried out by Zoopla.matrimonial home is the only joint investment with spouse but that too has a negative equity of around 15k.spouse doesnt trust the zoopla valuations and judge has ordered formal valuations to be caried out prior to fdr. in the event of formal valuations showing similar figures as my zoopla valuations what do you think the judge will do? please help as i am self rep ping

You need to give loads more details before anyone can begin to advise.

When you say formal valuations do you mean estate agents or surveyors?.

Your respective ages;

The number of children you have and their ages;

How many nights the children spend with each parent;

The length of your marriage and any period of pre marriage cohabitation;

Your respective incomes;

Your respective outgoings;

Your assets - both soley held and joint;

Your liabilities

thanks for your reply.
estate agent valuations required. no children of marriage.one and half years in marriage and 5 years cohabitation.my age 57, wife 50. my income after outgoings are around 15k per annum.rental income can vary through void periods when properties are empty.wife''s income is 25k from part time work. dont know her outgoings.my assets are -70k as my houses have fallen in value and are in a negative equity situation. the matrimonial home which is empty and un occupied is the only joint asset but that too has a negative equity of around 15k

Where are you both living right now?

No one can ever say what will happen but i think given her income the chances are you will both end up with more or less what you had before you married.

You both have a modest income with very little in the way of assets, the rentals are you source of income and ok so you have a small pension but she earns 10k more than you do, both of your housing needs are met, this is one of those the judge will want shot of very quickly.
