Ex not left home by due date

Have just had distraught message from friend whose ex was supposed to quit the FMH (she has bought him out) today (all signed sealed and through court). He was still in situe when she returned having kept out of way with children all day.

He does not reside in house proper but in temporary accomodation for which all services are provided from the house. I have suggested that she cut off all services to that temporary accomodation but dont know if this is strictly speaking something that she can legally do now. Not only would this make life for him, even in short term, very uncomfortable but means she will not be getting inflated bills due to his usage.

Any advice gratefully received as to her best course of immediate action and how to move forward in longer term.

Do you know what paperwork has been processed throught the courts? Are they actually divorced?
Your friend could cut services now, but perhaps it would be less confrontational to advise him that it would happen at the end of the week so time to go.

Well if what you say is right he is trespassing as he no longer has the right to live there and his name won''t be on the deeds.

One word you could use to scare him (and follow it through if you have to)

Police.

Thank you, I dont know if she would want her kids to see their dad escorted off the premises - and he probably knows that. Most I can do now is pass on that info and be on end of phone if she needs me .........

And yes all paperwork has been through courts, they are divroced and finances have been agreed with final date for him to leave today. He has had about 3 months notice so no excuse for not being out of property. I think his remaining is confrontational enough to justify immediate cut off. He is certainly not penniless and is well able to buy/rent a decent place locally.

This sounds cruel but never mind what the kids want.

In a day or so they would have forgotten about it anyway. If people were scared to do things because of the kids no one would separate. It''s got to be for her not for the kids. They won''t hold it against her.
