Just had an e-mail from my sol. and as it's Friday evening I
I can't ask her what it means.
Can anyone help?
It says my stbx has his financial information ready and asks if I do. His sol. says if they do not receive it by the 4th August they will start financial proceedings in the divorce. My sol. says this is unreasonable and will say so but can't stop it. She doesn't explain what this means for me.
Also I am going traveling on 15/08/08 so what will happen.
Any advice would be great, thanks

Hi Megan,

Both parties should exchange financial information at the same time. All it means is that your xtb has his ready and it appears you don't.

Don't worry about it.

I assume your xtb's sols are saying they will apply for ancillary relief proceedings on or after 4th August. Don't worry about that either.

What is the situation re Decree Nisi?

I have my nisi but have not applied for absolute. Problem is he is paying the mortgage.
Is that what this is about? I earn more than him but take home a lot less due to his expenses and me paying for a lease car he agreed to before he left.

Hi Megan,

It is usual for the petitioner for divorce to b ethe applicant in ancillary relief proceedings.

I suspect that all this is, is that your xtb wants to get the ball rolling and apply for ancillary relief to start because you haven't. Is this because he is paying the mortgage? I can't say, but at the end of the day does it really matter why he's doing it?

You should be getting your form E ready, is you haven't got everything you need then you have a choice to wait until you come back from holiday, or send him what you have.

Pwersonally I would recommend you send him what you have and then forget about it until after the holiday.

Funny thing about this country, people are expected to take holidays - during summer an' all!

Above all Megan - don't worry - oh, and don't buy any property in Goa, that last bit is very important!
