At some point in his last flurry of emails, my Ex said that I shouldn''t forget he paid off my debts (IVA) in the mid-00s.

Last night I found that I still had some bank statements from 2006 (I am SUCH a hoarder!)

So now I have evidence that I was not only buying all the food/toiletries/sundries, I was also paying the mortgage, council tax, utility bills, sky tv & tv licence - but I was also subbing him £100 by standing order. I think that is sufficient evidence that we were splitting bills etc equally (otherwise why was I giving him money regularly!)

The things you find when you''re clearing out ... :silly:

The court honestly don`t care what was happening back then, its what you have now that matters and how best to divide it.

Focus on what you need right now, not who paid what years ago.

I know Dukey, but obviously it''s a still a sore point with my Ex. I just like to be able to prove him wrong!!!

(I''m just about done with the focusing on what I need now, I''m almost ready to exchange form E. Wonder if he is?)

Its really important you don`t get sidetracked, especially with silly irrelevant issues or arguments, if it happens in court just say its not relevant, with what time you have and given assets are small focus on what matters.
