Hi there, once completed, we had to submit the D180 form to the same county court where my now-husband had had his divorce papers issued.
We spoke to the court reception by phone beforehand to confirm the procedure and we had to pay 60 pounds. (They took payment over the phone from my credit card and sent me the receipt along with the signed documents).
Just to be on the safe side we also attached photocopies of the decree nisi and decree absolute.
From submitting the form (we did so by registered post) to receiving the signed copy back took 4 weeks as they told us the judge was always \"very busy\"...!!
Found the comments on this thread rather useful. I have called the divorce centre where my divorce was handled and have been told that this is a free application. Rather confused as I could almost swear that I have seen some people saying that they paid £60 over the telephone????? Can anyone clarify this please?
Please ignore the note above; I called them again just to verify and got through to someone who was more helpful. There is a £60 fee and for payment to give them my contact details for them to contact me on. Im going to ask for them to give me a number that I can call to do this and not wait for them to get round to trying to contact me.
We paid 60 pounds - this was the application cost to have the judge sign and then returned to us.
Whether it's the same everywhere, at each local court, I have no idea. Could be that each local court have their own policy.
Just call the county court where you plan to apply and they will confirm.
