50/50-split was created by Beardy
Married 16 years. 2 children (1 at uni in Newcastle and one doing A levels - private school). House worth approx £800k, pension pot approx £600k. Sold business so have £1.9m in bank. Previously always overdrawn due to school fees. Wife never worked. I asked but she refused to get a job even after kids were of school age. First time we have money in bank. Now looks like we are getting divorced, amicably at present. I think she is happy to share cost of kids education. Want to avoid legal costs. She will keep house. Is it a simple 50/50 split or does my hard work building a business over 30+ years count for anything? We're both 59.

All contributions to a marriage are seen as equal so her looking after the home will be seen the same as you building a business
