Hi all. Just looking for a bit of advice. Keep getting conflicting answers 😩 Me and my ex split last August. He cheated it eventually transpired. I filed for divorce on the grounds of adultery and could have applied for the absolute at the end of September. He has dragged his feet getting any financial order sorted out and we’ve been told that the average processing time for this is now 20-22 weeks!!! I really want to be divorced from him, for my own sanity, to have no reason to contact him (more vice versa tbh) and to be able to move on. Would I be crazy to apply for the absolute now before the financial order is granted? He has been taken off the deeds off the house and I have taken out a new mortgage; that has all gone through and completed. I have paid the mortgage on my own for three months now. He owns shares in his company and we both have pensions. We have agreed to leave all of that alone as I will get the house. TIA.
