Hi, could anyone please help me.

My husband is divorcing me and he can apply for the decree absolute tomorrow. However, my solicitor is delayed in issuing the "clean break" /consent order and was hoping this would all be complete by the time my husband applies for absolute.

Please could someone tell me does it matter if he applies for the absolute tomorrow with the consent order not done? Do I need to tell him not to apply for it? What happens if the decree absolute is issued yet the financial settlement isn't?

Thank you in advance

If one of you were to die in the period between absolute and consent order then the survivor wouldn’t be entitled to a widow(er)s pension.
