Hmm. Financial settlement is about meeting your need for housing and income, now and in the future.
If the property you have bought exceeds your needs or your needs will diminish, arguably you could downsize and use some of the capital to fund your retirement in future. If your income is much lower, a departure from equality to allow you to reduce your living costs through having no/ low mortgage would be appropriate.

The thing is there is clearly more capital than just what was tied up in the house. Settlement is based on your situations now and he has a fair bit of equity by the sound of it.

Even if the capital split was 70:30 in your favour, an equal split of pensions would be appropriate. He has the income to recover quickly from the financial hit.
