Hi Guys, this is my first post so please be gentle with me :)

My ex has apparentley filed for divorce on 06/04/24, however I have not received any emails or letters to confirm she has done so.
She has also informed me there will be a court hearing in the first week of May, and that we have mediation booked, but I've received no confirmation of this also? Is she bluffing? If the application was submitted 2 weeks ago, surely I would of heard something by now by email or post? She refuses to give me a case number........ does anyone have any idea of what the time scales should be from the point of application to the other party being informed that a divorce has been applied for?? thanks in advance for your reply.

Hello and welcome to Wikivorce

It can take 2 or 3 weeks for an application to be processed by the court before it is sent to the respondent.

If there is a court hearing, you should be sent notice of proceedings by the court informing of the nature of the application/hearing, place, date and time of hearing and setting out anything you need to prepare in advance of the hearing.

Usually the person booking the mediation would have thier MIAM (mediation information and assessment meeting) first, then you would be invited (usually via email) to attend your own MIAM - these are individual introductory sessions where you can ask any questions about the mediation process, and for the mediator to explain how mediation works as well as assessing your suitability to mediation.
