Good afternoon everyone!
Maybe somebody could help, I'm struggling here...
My partner is going through divorce, his ex is after half of his Army pension and requires Form P to be send out to her solicitors.
Pension provider refuses to divulge any information regarding pension value until PSO and Decree Absolute is issued.
We are being bombarded with questions regarding Form P, but pension provider issued a official letter to solicitors and the Court stating they require Court order and decree absolute then they can send out required information.
can anybody help here please? We have got no idea what to do.i should have mentioned that my partner is representing himself in the Court.

Hmm. It is fair enough that they wouldn't be able to give a precise amount for the shared pension until the PSO and Decree Absolute. Presumably it will be sufficiently large for an actuary's report to be needed?

Form P sets out the benefits etc for the pension pre division. Maybe there's a reason why it isn't appropriate for a military pension??

You should be able to get a CETV of the whole military pension
So long as you have the CETV and possibly a recent statement of pension benefits that should be enough for an actuary to work out an appropriate pension share.

NB pension sharing has been enshrined in law for more than 2 decades. The Pensions Advisory Group Report 2024 explains the thinking behind pension sharing and set out guidelines for how it should be done.
