Hi all,

Its a bit off topic but thought some may be interested in the link. I really dont want my private medical information being given to all and sundry - you never know what they will do with it! I think it will only be a matter of time before future employers check your medical history before employing anyone. If the information was all anonymous I wouldnt mind so much but not with the patients number/post code on each form. Big Brother indeed!

I opted out. Your name is removed but your NHS number, gender, postcode, date of birth and ethnicity are all included. Not difficult for a company to reidentify you with that!

Add to that the extremely sneaky way the NHS have gone about making people aware (a junkmail-like leaflet that was not delivered to houses that opted out of unaddressed mail) that there medical records are being sold unless you tell them otherwise.

The icing on the cake is that the neither you nor the NHS can stop companies from selling your records on later.

Thanks but no thanks.
