It's a new year, so yesterday I checked out my kids bank account.

Over the last three years or so, I've been putting money into it, not much and only when I afforded to.

I discovered that a withdrawal took place in November, clearing out the balance. As it is a children's account, both me and my stbx are signatories. Yes I know I should have thought ahead, but I didn't.

Now I expect her to claim that my boys have been "enabling" her to smoke crack cocaine.

Such is life

Really sorry to read your post Alive, some people will stop at nothing to feed their habit, even stealing from their own children.

I believe over time my ex took small amounts of the children's birthday money before I managed to pay it into their accounts as it went missing on a number of occasions and he always said it must have been me being careless with the money.

This was to feed his gambling and alcohol addictions.

I guess there is nothing you can do now, other than open them another account with just your signature. This is something I did from the start, only putting my name on their accounts as the guardian. Sadly, I didn't trust my ex-husband with money for a large amount of the marriage as he proved time and time again his need for money for selfish purposes.

Take care of you and your 2 children. You all have each others love and that is worth all the money in the world.

That happened to me I have 4 kids (inc 5 year old twins) they had a fair amount too and the lot went over night...not like he needed it either, but I resolve in the fact that as Iknow said, how low can one go...at least I have my integrity in tact
