Got called to a meeting with the boss today. They are starting consultation for redundancies as there is a real need to cut costs in the company. Upshot is that there are 3 of us doing a job and now only one position!

So I came home early as feeling totally demotivated. Find a solicitors letter saying that nisi pronouncement is next month. I am not sure if that is a good thing or not! I had not originally wanted to get divorced, and although the stbxs behaviour does now make me want to, I still find it sad.

My son then comes in from school and gives me his sheet with his mock GCSE results and they are very poor!

Not a great day! I am now bringing my CV up to date whilst drinking myself to a glass of whiskey! I am just hoping that these are my 3 bad luck things in one day!

Hope you have all had better days!

Big hugs for you ((()))

Life is swings and roundabouts. You've had 3 bad things, so you are due some good ones!

1. you now want to be divorced and you will be. It's sad, but as the door on your married life closes the one on a new liberated you opens.:)

2. your job - you may get to keep it:) You may be made redundant - but chin up. My ex was made redundant 3 times and each time it was a horrible shock, but each time he ended up with a better job than the one he was doing at the time:)

3. GCSE mocks are just mocks. They will probably give your son a reality check and help him to see where he needs to work to improve his grades.:)

sorry you are having such a bad day/time. if it is any help both my sons got completely rubbish mock results and it did make them pull their finger out a bit - cant say they really swotted but both managed to get about 8 - 10 each at reasonable grades by the time they got to the real thing. the younger one is now at uni and loving it - i always went on to them about what a great social life you get at uni - seemed better way of encouraging them , than better jobs eventually and all that. so dont worry too much about mock results, i think the schools also mark them hard to give them a nudge in the right direction.

I know about things coming in threes - admittedly over several months.

1. Sept 08 - Found out hubby having affair with best friend - hence mid divorce

2. Nov 08 - Had to have one of my 17 year old cats put down

3. Jan 09 - had to have my 15 year old dog put down

Hoping things can only get better from now on!
