A fairly quick and tasty lasagne that you can cook and portion up for the freezer or that the family will love:

I only used 500g passata (because I like my lasagne drier), added dried basil as well as dried oregano and added a tablespoon of marmite to the meat mix.

Anyway, it works and is tasty.

Would love to hear any other slow cooker recipes :)

Thank you for posting this recipe. I will give this a try without the cottage cheese (not too sure about that!).

My experiences so far with the slow cooker have been disastrous. Even really easy beef casseroles have left the meat like leather and the veg too soft. Any hints would be gratefully accepted.

Thats a shame Maccy - I wonder how long you are leaving it on for? Generally low temp for several hours should make the toughest cuts of meat really tender. Apart from potatoes and onions I don''t add the vegies till later than the recipe calls for as I prefer them on the crisper side too. In theory browning the meat before should make it extra tender too but I''m lazy and chuck the lot in together.

I usually leave it on for about 6 hours. I will follow your advice about the veg - hopefully that will improve it.

Thank you so much for the recipe. I love lasagne, but it never comes out good for me. Will try this for sure.
