Hello Welshguy,

It's late. I know I need to switch off... anyway, read your heartfelt post... you are going "through the motions" as you described...I've been there, when you are doing everthing everyone around you would perhaps expect you to.. but you're not really there ? Sounds familiar to me... it does change.. but don't expect too much too soon... you are a genuine guy and there does not seem many of those around. Your wife seems to have given up a lot and her stubborness would seem to be clouding the issue.. if there is an issure?

Is there absolutely no chance of reconciliation? I understand how you feel about the decree nici and the envelope.. every day I came home from work and there would be something unwelcome awaiting me... my little boy by my side and I would have to hide the grief and despair and helplessness I felt as I came in the door, picked up the post and put it to one side until I had a quiet moment when he was not around to open it. It was always bad news. After 20 years with one man I could not believe how he was being so callous and cold, he treated our divorce like he was checking out of a hotel.

You sound genuine and caring and like this should not be happening to you.. you don't deserve this.. I know your impending holiday will not be your complete salvage but I hope this time it has a slightly different angle to it.. enjoy it for what it is and appreciate the beauty of the country around you...enjoy!

P.S. Do you like bakestones!!? My Nan (Welsh) used to make them!!

Hope you didn't think "do you like bakestones" was a corny chat up line!!
