My partners decre absolute(think thats what it is called)Says the reason for devorce was his adultery. It was done in the 80''s at the request of his ex wife so they could get a quick devorce. Can this be changed?
I just want to make sure he really isn''t an adulterer!!
I doubt it can be changed.Adultery was used quite often in the 80s to get a quick divorce as little proof was needed and it seemed less damaging than having Unreasonable Behaviour on the Absolute. In those days a lot of people thought UB meant wife beater.
I''ve not been married and I don''t fancy going to book a wedding and having someone think I''m marring an adulterer. He can''t explain that he lied as that makes a devorce void! And that really will make him an adulterer!I''m angry at him for that. Why can guys be such idiots?
Whether he "lied" or not, it won''t make the divorce void. You are talking about something that happened what 25 or 30 years ago. what occurred during that time is not a reflection on your current relationship with him.
Ask yourself if you love him, if yes, then why hinge your entire relationship upon what happened in a previous relationship with someone else?
I really don''t think the Registrar will give it a second thought whatever is on the Divorce Certificate, its old history However if you are so concerned by what others think I don''t think you are ready to marry him.If you are doubting him before the marriage I think it''s doomed before it begins.
