My children are 16 and 18. One in education and the other having a gap year, practicing for piano degree, next September. Having regular piano lessons which I am paying for.

My question is he is paying £230.54 a month for our youngest. Nothing for our daughter. Nothing in relation to housing bills or maintenance. His view is as he is not living FMH he does not need to help with bills.

He advised me this evening he is not paying for our boiler to be fixed. So the bill again is coming to my. (After texts where he explained he was upset about our children not wanting to see him, as he has been abusing us for years, I for the first time sent one back about it is his own fault, not mine)

He had his own business, made himself redundant and spent all money on himself, blaming me and the children.

You need to post more details on incomes and assets.

It is usual for whoever stays in the house to pay the bills. Can you afford to? Are you likely to qualify for Spousal Maintenance?

How was CM for the youngest decided?

Call me crazy but why on earth would he pay to fix your boiler and also your household bills? He lives elsewhere so I'm guessing he has bills of his own. Your children are at an age where there should be no reason why you can't cover your own costs yourself.
