Hi all, I have the possibility to get a new job with increased pay. We have not arranged financial agreements yet.
Would it be in my best interests to delay getting more a new job with more pay until after the financial agreement is made and a Consent Order is signed?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

How much more pay are you talking about and how long would they keep the job open?

Probably about 15-20K more (from 45K).
I don't believe they would keep the job open for me as we still have some way to go to conclude the financial agreement and they need someone in place soon.

I would just take the job if it is right for you.

It may make it easier to sort the finances if there is a bit more money available.

As to the impact on any settlement, we'll we cannot advise without knowing more about your situation.

Many thanks for your reply. It is very easy to get into an adversarial frame of mind during divorce but I'm sure that it is not always the best approach.
