Hi all I use Direct Pay to my ex. My son left school last June 2023 and wanted to join the Forces under an apprenticeship scheme, sadly he failed the physical this week for a 3rd time.
CMS sent me an annual review of my payments, it was imcorrect. When I queried it I was told my account was 'inactive'. I asked what that meant and was told I shouldn't have paid since Sep 2023.
As I pay my ex via Direct Debit CMS cannot recover the money. I think the problem is to do with Child Benefits not informing CMS.
How do I make redress without taking my ex to Court, surely Child Benefit Services are culpable??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

H
