I have agreed to take a pension share of £30,000 out of my xs £400,000 pension plus the house and other assets. Can I insist that this share is paid to me as cash instead of being paid into a Private Pension Plan. My own pension provider will not accept a share?

No, if you have agreed a pension share then that is what you get. You will need to check out your ex's pension provider to see if you can remain with them as a credit member or transfer to another provider. However, if your agreement hasn't yet been registered through the courts you could negotiate to offset the pension against other assets. The disadvantage of offsetting is that pensions do not provide ready cash and the value is often discounted unless retirement age is within the next few years.
