My husband froze his company pension when he left his employer. He worked for them over 10 years on a salary of at least £40,000. the company paid in generously but the amounts from them or him i do not know.He left that company around 1996
Husband has been less than open in his form E about recent self employed wages etc so im wondering if he is trying to hide info on his pension too. His CETV is supposedly around £20,000.I was wondering if you can split pensions up and transfer amounts easily. On his previous form e a letter detailing his plan its cetv was worth £18,000 in march 2009 said we have invested this plan....as requested. Maybe i am being paranoid, due for my first hearing in 10 days and he can "play the game" better than me. His form e still has business accounts etc missing.
All i wanted was a straight 50-50 split for my son and i but as he wasnt willing so the cost for me will be tripled so i have to look at everything i can ,to make the money back

Splitting pensions is rlatively straighforward and is done on a % basis. The impoertant thing is to check that you have had details of the whole pension disclosed.

If you think that there is a real likely hood that he has had part of the pension transferred to a different provider then in your questionnaire you can ask him o provide a letter from the pension company confirming whether any funds have been transferred out of the pension at any time. However, it may simply be that the fund offers options as to how (within the pension) funds are invested - which varies depends on someone's attitide to risk etc.
