Split of furniture in FMH

We have been together for about 18 years (of those married for 13). My x2b moved in with me and brought nothing except for his personal belongings. I owned a fully equipped and furnished 3-bedroom house, and didn''t agree a pre-nup at the time. My question: although some of the items have been replaced and others have stayed the same over those years do I still have a right to claim that these are "technically" mine? I do not wish to sound petty but just want to know from a negotiation perspective when we get to mediation!

You can state or claim what you like but in the end if your husband doesn''t agree then you are wasting time and emotion and cost in wrangling over furniture.

If the case got to court the court will not be remotely interested in the personal possessions it is up to you to sort that out.

Maybe the best way is to ask for the certain items that really are important to you and then ask him what is really important to him and then agree to split the rest.

I was in a very similar situation myself.

But, in the grand scheme of things:-
Only assets valued over £500 are of account.
That''s not cost-of-replacement:(
