Very distressing to watch :(

It was very telling when the mother admitted that she grew up only seeing her own father for 2 hours on one day a year, and she felt that was acceptable.

I know this is an old thread, but I''ve just come accross it.

I find it disgusting that some mothers will do anything to stop the childrens father from seeing them but they are more than willing to take money from him each month.

Obviously for the absent parent that is a threat of any sort to the children then yes, they should be kept away but in my experience, most absent parents (usually the father) just want to see their own children every week to continue the relationship that should never have been disrupted.

The thing that really pi**es me off,,,, the absent parent can spend thousands getting access to their children by court order, which is a stupidly short period of time once or twice a month but the mother, as it usually is, often disregards that order but there are no consequences!!!

What the hell is wrong with the law in this country,,,,, and more importantly, why isn''t the welfare of the children the foremost consideration for the mother and the courts?!

Why are some mothers allowed to destroy their own childrens relationship with their father and the courts actually seem to condone it!!!

It is difficult when one person is lying and the other telling the truth. Who does the court believe?

I have seen a case where the mother did exactly as you describe and ended up with a suspended community service order. The judge made it clear that this would be enforced if she continued to muck about.

Unfortunately it is possible for the resident parent to dictate terms and to steer away from contact by being negative, making false allegations and otherwise ignoring the possibility that the child/ren would have a good relationship with the non-resident parent.

The law is sound, it''s the people involved in the case that present a problem.

I think m5g''s experience is maybe an extreme of the stupidity of some people, but nevertheless, from what I have seen it is by no means unusual.

I find the whole thing seriously distastful, and what makes it worse is there seems to be little or no accountability to the parent that is causing issues that are made up for dramatic effect.

But then again, looking at news etc and the law in this country is a joke anyway.

quite right lizzi
ive found that the services she has involved (without her knowing it would snowball after claiming serious allegations) see this everyday and hear it all the time and i have to be honest they have been fantastic with me. schools , social services ,caffcass , and the courts and its taken alot of there time , my time and my childrens time for the truth to come out for the allegations SHES made . this week will either see her jailed or the children removed from her . ive never made 1 allegation because i belive i would be found out to be lieing and for my own dignity . i would like to point out that breach of an order is a joke .... i''ll keep you posted
