Joint monies before the marriage

Before the marriage, my partner and I had some money in a joint account.

Therefore it belongs to us both equally and I am entitled to spend all of it if I want - correct?

So let''s say I done that. I transferred the whole balance into my own account and spent it, around 5 years ago.

We got married shortly after I done this and we''re now divorcing.

Can she now claim half of that joint account back?

I''d have thought no but her solicitor is saying she can and I''m confused!


p.s. this is a simplified example so please don''t focus on whether it''s right or wrong of me to have taken and spent the whole balance.
