Back in Septmeber my ex wife and I agree to a Consent Order based on a mutual agreement. I spoke with some solicitors and got one who said the cost shouldn''t come much over £200. Sorted.
They got the text for the oder and the Statement of Information.
They then asked for a deposit of £400, this should have set alarm bells but.....
The solicitor handling the case it transpires has left. The good news is that they have completed the order but its need signatures. The bad news is they want another £200+ VAT. As I have a copy of the order and the Statement of Information. The question is; if I tell them to poke it what else needs to be done to get the order put before a court?? They have dragged their feet on this and I have provided them with the orginal mail outlining the cost. There has been no need for mediation and the order is not contentious. Ideas ??
Towards the end of dealing with my solicitors, I think I asked a copy of their complaint procedures and then said that I was dismayed by the clear lack of disrespect that they showed their customers. That helps them to get a bit for focused, since they don''t like wasting the time of their senior "execs".
