I discovered some time ago that a Google search will bring up pages of Wikivorce. I checked with Tets which areas and subsequently changed/deleted some of my posts/blogs.

It came up in Chat last night and some people who were unaware of it checked and were quite shocked.

We discussed asking today whether it could be flagged up on the home page that Wikivorce items are cached on Google.

It may be crucial in cases where the Wiki member may be in danger should the information revealed here in good faith among like-minded people were to get into the wrong hands so to speak.

Regards

Mitchum

Mitchum,
How do you delete or change your posts? This is something I've wanted to do, as I feel now the information I've given makes me easily identifiable.
What is comes up on a Google search?

Mitchum,

The Wikivorce website is indeed indexed by Google, as are most websites.

We have added a small note to this effect to the site footer (which appears on every page of the site).

The one area not indexed by Google are the members profile pages.

Over 75% of new visitors to Wikivorce find us through Google. If we were not indexed on Google then 3 out of 4 of you would never have found us.

Lilibet,

You should be able to edit your posts using the edit button shown at the bottom of each of your posts.

There is no delete button but you can effectively "blank out" a post by editing it and removing all the text.

regards
Ian

Thanks Ian, I've just discovered how to edit posts, but can I edit replies I've left on other member's blogs?

Lilibet,

There is no button to allow you to edit your comments.

If you have a comment that you would like to be removed just send a PM to tets with the Blog title and request that he remove your associated comments.
