We are the leading national charity working with single parent families. Since 1918, we have been at the forefront of shaping policy and services that support single parents. Today, there are two million single parent families in the country. We champion their voices and keep their needs at the heart of everything we do.
The Lone Parent Helpline is a freephone confidential service for lone parents, with trained staff offering help and advice on the many issues arising from relationship breakdown and coping financially with raising children on their own, including benefits and tax credits, housing, maintenance, moving into work or education. The telephone service is backed up by a wide range of publications providing more detailed information on a similarly wide range of subjects, which are sent free of charge to lone parents.
