i signed the joint minute of agreement 13 weeks ago [the stbx had already signed it]
my solicitor said it would take 2-4 weeks then another 2 weeks in case one of us wants to appeal, but by end of november/start of december the divorce should be through
now heres my question
can i phone the court and ask whats happened and when it will be going through or do i need to speak to my solicitor...i dont want to do this as it costs me money that i dont have
any answers gratefully appreciated,thanks
Yes, you can call the Court Clerk for an update. I have always found the Clerks very useful, and you dont have to pay for thier time, unlike your sols
Has the actual application been submitted to Court? Dont forget that the Courts will have been closed for certain days over the festive period, and this period of time is often a busy one for sheriff courts due to the number of criminal cases they will have to deal with.
Ruby gave me the same advice and I followed it. She was right. They are very helpful. They will tell you a reference number. I got to find out 4 weeks before my solicitors did. Also divorce done in 2 weeks.
thanks very much to the two of you
