Both my stbx and I have superannuation funds although mine is bigger than hers. We have just begun to talk about the money side of the divorce and hope to keep it amicable and agree things between ourselves. Are our superannuation funds taken into account as part of the marital asset pot?

Thanks, Micky

Hi Mickey and welcome to wiki, you'll find lots of help and support here on the forums, and in the chat room too.

Superannuation funds are normally considered a financial resource by the courts and there is some general information about them in this library article .

There's also information about superannuation valuations and a calculator in the Superannuation section of the Australian library.
