Hi, I'm new to the forum here. I'm currently going through divorce and my stbx and I are trying to work out the financial splits amicably. He has a sizeable superannuation fund whereas I have a small one.
I understand that superannuation funds can be taken into account for divorce, but do we have to wait until retirement in order to actually split them?

It may be possible to split the superannuation soon after the financial orders's have been agreed rather than waiting until retirement. This would depend on the rules of the superannuation fund in question.
