Who is this service suitable for?
This service is designed for people who need to negotiate a fair financial settlement but who don't want to spend £200 plus VAT per hour for a solicitor.
Our clients for this service are typically in one of the following situations:
a) Their ex has a solicitor who has written to them about a financial settlement, perhaps asking them to provide financial disclosure, so that out of court negotiations can take place. They are not sure how to respond and whether they need to get a solicitor.
b) They have received a letter notifying them of a court hearing for Finances and asking them to complete Form E. They are worried about dealing with the whole court process and don't have several thousand pounds to pay a solicitor.
c) Neither husband or wife has a solicitor, they are doing a DIY divorce, but don't know how to sort out the financial side of things.
d) There is a suggestion of going to mediation to discuss finances, but they are not sure if they should go along, or what their other options are.
e) Their spouse has disappeared, or is offering them nothing, and don't know how to go about claiming their fair financial settlement.
In short, our Divorce Consultant service is suitable for anyone who needs help with their financial settlement but has a limited budget.
If you and your ex have already reached a verbal agreement on finances then you probably don't need this Divorce Consultant service, you just need to arrange for a Consent Order to be drafted and sent to court to make your agreement legally binding.
