Child Arrangements and Issues?

We have a strong team of family solicitors who have a track record of succeeding in child abduction cases. blah blah.

When you receive divorce papers it is very important that you do not ignore them - you must get some advice and then submit a response promptly (preferably within 7 days).

If you do not respond quickly - and in the correct way - then you could end up being ordered by the court to pay your spouses solicitor fees of around £1000 to £1500.

What is the process for ordering this service?

Provided that you and your spouse are able to agree on a fair financial agreement,  then the process to draft the agreement, get it signed and obtain court approval is fairly straightforward:

1) Call our helpline to order the service and book a time for your phone consultation:

Due to the tight deadlines for responding to the court, we recommend that you call our helpline to order this service and at the same time you can book a suitable appointment for the phone consultation with our family law expert.

2) We will email you a Step by Step guide to responding to divorce

This guide will provide an overview of responding to divorce and enable you to prepare for your phone consultation.

3) At the scheduled date/time we will call you to provide advice and complete the legal forms

Our family law expert will discuss you case and your individual circumstances, and based on this we will provide advice on the best way to respond to the divorce. We will assist you with the wording of every question on the D10 Acknowledgement of Service form.

4) You post the completed response to the court (and optionally send email to other party)

Acting on the advice that you have received from our legal expert you will then be able to submit the completed response to court in the enevelope that they provided. In some cases we will also advise you to send an email to your spouse or their solicitor (we will provide you with the email template for this).

5) The Court confirms receipt of your response:

Around 1 or 2 weeks later you will receive a confirmation letter from the court confirming that they received your response.

6) Phone advice on Decree Nisi or Decree Absolute stages.

Once you have responded to divorce using this service then there are usually no further actions you need to take. The final two steps of divorce (Application for Decree Nisi and Application for Decree Absolute) are done by the petitioner (your spouse). You willreceive updates from the court by letter as each stage is reached. However if you have any more questions further on in the process then you can call our helpline for advice..
